Zach founded Grounded Agronomy in 2025 because he knew that combining technical agronomic advice with financial detail can add value to the farm business.
Zach is known for his "whole business approach" where he supports complicated farming businesses to make sound choices by understanding the multifaceted pressures on farm.
His work includes potato agronomy, combinable crop agronomy and business planning. Zach is BASIS, FACTS and FBAASS qualified and also has an MSc in Soils and Sustainability.

Eric Anderson
Eric turns decades of potato and soil expertise into practical, profitable, resilient farming solutions for complex businesses facing technical, commercial and environmental pressure from field to store.
Eric is one of the UK’s most respected specialists in potato agronomy, soil management and applied crop production. With over 40 years’ experience across advisory, research, supply-chain, government and international settings, he translates applied biology into practical, profitable outcomes for complex farming businesses.
His expertise spans soil functionality, fertiliser strategy, water management, irrigation, crop nutrition, disease pressure, integrated crop management, potato storage and biodiversity enhancement, supported by recognised sector leadership, professional fellowships and national awards including Dr James Hardie Memorial Award and Potato Agronomist of the Year.

Agricultural Adviser
Juaad Al-Saffar
Juaad joined Grounded Agronomy in 2026 as an Agricultural Adviser, bringing applied experience across combinable crops and potatoes, alongside strong skills in project accountancy, budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
BASIS and FACTS qualified, he offers a joined-up approach that connects agronomy with the commercial realities of modern farming.
He works across soil management, crop and variety choice, nutrient strategy, crop performance, pest management and environmental stewardship. Juaad is supported by a growing network of national specialists, helping bring practical, up-to-date knowledge into clear farm-level recommendations.
With an understanding of production costs, cash flow, and margins, he helps farmers turn legislation, technical insight and industry knowledge into practical decisions throughout the crop rotation. The result is advice that supports stronger yields, improved quality and more resilient, profitable farming businesses.
